Sewing Two Rugs Together to Make One Long Hallway Rug

Like me, you probably imagined some way of doing this and then could not find it online, so maybe you gave up, or maybe you ended up here. I wrote the linked article after I just sewed two rugs together. I called it binding two rugs together. It worked, but they never laid quite straight for very long. Maybe it was the length of the rugs, or maybe it was my lack of sewing skills. The rugs looked very nice and worked well for parties, but they just got out of alignment once a day or so, meaning it wasn't a perfect solution.

How to Retire at Age 40

One good plan is to invent something and sell it. Another one, as in this article, is to sell something online that someone else invented. Both are fairly similar. You can also use email marketing and tons of other ways to make your retirement a bit more dishonest. The point is that online sales, in some form, can do it for you.

Read this article for one idea that's working for one team.

Satire is Difficult Yet Rewarding

Sometimes it's offensive, and sometimes the point is something with which you may not agree, but the purpose of satire is to make you think, not just nod your head in agreement.

If you are looking for a collection of modern satire that holds its own with any group-written fake newspaper or comedy television show, then check out Nearly News.

How to Win Using Progressive's Snapshot

This Satisfamily article discusses ways to save money by driving like a grandma from outer space.

We Chose Topeka Over KC Zoo

I am sure the Kansas City Zoo is better than the Topeka Zoo overall, but we will be getting a family pass at Topeka rather than KC, and this is the article that tells you why. If you are in a similar situation to us, where special events at the local zoo do not matter as much as reciprocity when you travel, then read the linked article in Satisfamily.

Creative Writing by Brian Jaeger

If you are looking to read some poetry but are sick of finding poems written by heartbroken middle school girls, then check out mcnewsy. It houses an extensive collection of poetry by Wauwatosa, Wisconsin's Poet Laureate, Brian Jaeger.

The website also has articles, stories, satire, and some college papers for you to peruse.

Cherry Creek School District Reminded Me That Blogger Existed

We can thank Cherry Creek School District for this post. When I was researching school districts that might be interested in Craniums to help protect Chromebooks, I ended up on two or three CCSD Blogger websites. This meant that search engines were finding the posts, and that's really the main purpose of posting online. At that point, I remembered that I'd had at least one Blogger page (three, apparently). I also had blogspot pages, Angelfire pages, and more than one Myspace page.

After getting back into Blogger and writing a few articles, it's not too bad. Easier than the alternatives and the templates are nicer than they were. I don't remember for sure if CCSD even has Chromebooks at this point. Any school district with unprotected Chromebooks should email me.

Educabana Educational Resources

The idea was to provide free lessons for other teachers. After thousands of free downloads, the teacher who created the website was laid off. Then it became about helping schools and trying to make a little bit of money on the side. Educabana has never been about getting rich on the backs of other teachers. It's always been about helping fellow educators.

Information About Voucher Schools

If you are looking for information about vouchers in schools, along with arguments about how to use taxpayer money to fund schools, then check out VoucherSchool.com. It's written from the perspective of someone who can see the argument from both sides, which means it's better than most of the politically-motivated blogs about the issue.

My Chromebook is Protected With a Cranium

I have a cheap Lenovo Chromebook. It works fine. Simple, like this article. It won't break like most Chromebooks because I got a Cranium for it. Now I can pretend it's a more expensive computer. I can also have confidence it won't break as easily as most Chromebooks. Also, it's a whiteboard, so that could be useful, too.

If you're looking for a Cranium not on Amazon or you need more than the inventory online, contact Educabana.
