Book about church website design
Not every church wants to hire a website designer. Believe me, I know. It's fine if a pastor or dedicated church member wants to develop a website for the congregation. However, what should be included in the website and why?
In my book, A Simplified Guide to Church Websites, I talk about how you can do it all yourself. A few of the tips are worth time, maybe minutes and maybe hours. A few of the tips are worth money, maybe hundreds of dollars. That's because you can save yourself the cost of hiring someone like me to fix problems that you could not figure out or that would take hours of online forum reading.
Each website framework is a little different, so this is not about one Content Management System or program. It's a best-practices guide for churches that will help you decide if you need a new website, if you can do it yourself, and even how to hire the right person to do it for you. The knowledge you gain from the book will help you decide how to proceed. If you can't figure any of it out, then hire someone. If you can figure it all out, then you'll have a pretty good church website when you're done. Either way, $5 for a book is a lot cheaper than $100 for a consultation with a local web developer. This book will help you understand why website building is complicated, but it will also show you how it can be simplified.
