Did you know that when you sign up for a tutoring service, you are paying about half of your fees to the service? That means the $50 tutor is making $25. Even if your tutor seems to overcharge at $100 an hour, that qualified person is only making the standard $50 an hour.
The only way tutoring makes sense to a qualified person is to get jobs without using Tutor Doctor or Varsity Tutors. Working for Sylvan or similar is no better. And be careful, either as a tutor or client, as some of these services will give a tutor 3-5 students at a time. That's not really one-on-one, and it's exceptionally greedy by the company.
