Framework
This is a Joomla website, which is great. However, the 2013 copyright date and accessible administration screen tells me this is probably a Joomla 1.5 website. Maybe 2.5. The template looks pretty good, but it's simply not anywhere near the latest in what Joomla can offer, and we build Joomla sites, so we know. Having an older Joomla website is also a security risk.
Mobile-Friendly
According to Google, the Hands of Mercy Mission website is not mobile-friendly and has a lot of resources blocked from Google, which could affect searches. Here's what's wrong on a mobile screen:
- Clickable elements too close together
- Text too small to read
- Viewport not set
Other Issues
Because this is an older version of Joomla, it takes some doing in order to upgrade or migrate it. With all the graphics, images, and other elements that make it look good on a desktop, I'm sure the developer was just hoping the client didn't care too much about the mobile shortcomings. Since there's so much there, I'd recommend migrating the website to a newer version of Joomla rather than trying to rebuild it new. All those articles are indexed by Google, and starting over is probably a bad idea. Competent Joomla developers can do the work, probably without too many issues, and then add a new template, for $2000 or so. Luthernet has migrated dozens of Joomla websites, so we could also do it, but without knowing the hosting environment, an estimate isn't simple. I'd say $1000 is probably fair based on my own website upgrades.
